So I want to start blogging about things again. Even though I blogged only a few times on this blog previously, I've been wanting to continue, but with a more diverse range of topics.
I'm living a rather busy life. Currently trying to finish up my 5th and final year of college, while continuing to work on the previously blogged web design/development jobs, helping my roommate with his startups, keeping my head square with leisure activities, and trying to get my body back in shape just to feel better about myself. Throw in an interest of the female kind and there's little time for me to do, well, nothing.
It feels good, but I don't quite have it all together yet. The important things tend to fall by the wayside when things I want to do come up. I need to change that. First step, as outlined by my counselor, is to definitely get a bed-time in order. His suggestion is to try 10pm. I've been having a lot of trouble with this. I get home from work around 5:30pm every night, and make myself some dinner. Usually I'm quite pooped, and thus I pick up some activities to keep me awake. Unfortunately, those activities don't only keep me awake - they wake me up. So by the time 10pm rolls around, and I should be jumping in bed, I'm actually getting my second wind of energy, or on the come-down.
It's hard to lay in bed with a million things running through your head, knowing that you could be doing them now, and still get the same amount of sleep in the end. This is a mindset I need to break away from. I need to convince myself that getting sleep now and taking care of these things when I wake up is the way to go. But how about moving my bed time to 11pm?
On the topic of the webdesign/development jobs, I had some trouble getting the clients on board. It's not that they didn't like what I had made, but more like I just couldn't get in contact with them before I left town. I'm back in town, now, and they've expressed interest in trying again. So I'm trying again. I've decided to redesign one of them completely for an even more elegant experience, which could very possibly have a mobile version. I need to talk to the client about extra charges that might entail. I'll write a separate post about this in the near future.
My leisure activities include plastic models, puzzles, and video games. Currently, I play a couple of video games in a sort of daily rotation. The one I'd like to mention is Minecraft. For now, I'll just point out that it's an indie game, and it's really pretty awesome. As of a few months ago, I've been producing a gameplay series for YouTube revolving around Minecraft. I'll be blogging about this series regularly in the future.
There are a lot of other things going on, too. I found out today that my youngest niece just recently took up walking as a baby-sport. I've also scored my first seemingly real dinner date, slated for sometime next week. Actual date and time are pending, but I'll be sure to get them set in stone!
That's about it for now. Long-winded and dry, but that's the way I like it. Maybe with a little shake, too.
Peace out!
