I'm a Conceptual Master

Okay. So for something like 10 years I've wanted to build myself a portfolio website. For 10 years, I've tried, and failed miserably. I'm infected with this complex that doesn't allow me to be satisfied with any concept I come up with, and if there's even a shred of potential, it only seems to last for a short amount of time.

Today I figured I'd try again. Here's what I've come up with:
I'm almost completely sure I want to make this one work. It satisfies all of my deepest cravings in a portfolio website: simple, concise, attractive, etc. etc.. We'll see if I actually do something with it.

Including this one, I've produced three complete and a single incomplete design for my portfolio website. Each time I thought exactly what I'm thinking with this most recent one. So far I've gotten nowhere with any of them.

Here is the previously "most recent" concept:

Last is the concept that came incredibly close to seeing its operable manifestation:
And if you want to see exactly how far it really got, check out the mostly working demo. This one ended up being a big ole' experiment. I learned how to write some j-query and do CSS sliders, which is really cool. It was also my first big foray into using general design concepts in my webdesign.

The more I look at those other two, the more motivated I am to get the newest one going. I imagine I can get started on it in the next couple of days.
